Originally from beautiful Cape Town, South Africa, for the last twenty-plus years David has been entertaining audiences in Denver and the Rocky Mountains with his acoustic songs that cover hundreds of old and new favorites, in addition to his original compositions. You can find him playing at his resident spot at Siena at the Courtyard in Castle Rock, most Friday evenings and also at a variety of other spots in the spring and summer. Check out the calendar below for gigs.
David's vocal and guitar music makes the perfect addition to your event, from live music pubs and restaurants, to private bookings for rehearsal dinners, weddings and corporate parties, to patio parties and holiday celebrations.
David provides all sound equipment and offers very reasonable live performance rates. Contact David directly, via the contact page below, if you are interested in having quality live acoustic music at your next event.
David is learning new songs every week, so his song list keeps growing like wild ivy out of control. This selection is just a tiny smattering of his immense song catalog, but hopefully it'll give you a taste! David is also always eager to take requests for special songs for an event. He currently plays over 2,000 tunes covering multiple genres and time periods, including his own collection of growing original music too.
Requests for songs are always welcome, as are special song selections for events.
Nothing complicated - just pure quality acoustic music.
There are also a few sound samples to listen to, for a taste of David Marais' sound. Enjoy.
ps. David adds new sound samples each week to this collection, so visit again soon.
The channel is called "David Marais, the Campfire Guitarist". Pop by and visit and, if you like, please subscribe. David uploads about five songs a week. These simple video recordings are captured in the moment and are intended to create the vibe of a relaxed living room house concert. (They are intentionally "rough" and laid back.)
David also plays many shows with his longtime friend and bandmate Tim Barrier, in the acoustic folk-rock duo, "Wrongway and the Mustang".
These two troubadours have been wowing crowds in Denver, Castle Rock, the foothills and all across the Rocky Mountains for over two decades, bringing smiles to fire-lit faces and getting feet tapping, in pubs from far and wide with their energetic and heartfelt tunes and authentic style.
